Some copper GBIC modules feature the RX_LOS pin internally grounded, which means that it does not have the link indication feature. Many copper GBIC modules are compatible with 1000 Base-X auto negotiation. The hot-pluggable copper GBIC modules are enclosed in a metallic encasing to yield a lower power dissipation and lower EMI.

4. CWDM GBIC Transceiver
These types of transceiver modules are cost effective and support a dual data-rate up to 1.25 Gbps. The transmission distance will reach up to 80km and is compatible with other CWDM devices such as those made by Cisco. If a switch-to-switch interface is required, try a CWDM GBIC transceiver. They also are recommended for switched backplane applications, optical transmission systems applications, or router/server interface applications.
